A series of four two-part type systems constructed from curved modular components that expand and contract to reveal characters and words. Each system consists of a foreground and background layer — a ‘male’ and ‘female’ group of components — through which letters emerge by means of variations in the density of the geometric field. As the figure-and-ground components are manipulated within a body of text, intricate visual textures emerge that maintain different degrees of emphasis even at a distance.
